TOY FAIR 2010

by Herb Levy

Romance took a back seat to toys and games as the annual International Toy Fair launched on Valentine's Day this year, beginning on February 14 and continuing through the 17th in New York City. Gamers Alliance in general (and me, in particular) look forward to the event each year and this year was no exception. The weather proved fickle, however. Heavy snow decided to descend on the tri-state area the week BEFORE the Fair but did not leave the event unscathed as a few inches fell in the middle of the event. Still although general temperatures were cool to cold, they were manageable (especially considering it is New York in February). As always, the best part of the fair is connecting and re-connecting with friends, both old and new (you know who you are). And be sure to check out our exclusive Toy Fair interview with game and toy designer Reuben Klamer). But for the majority of our readers, the focus is on games. So here is our comprehensive view and YOUR advanced peek at what's new and planned for the year ahead. Where available, we've included brief descriptions, number of players, game length and suggested retail price. Critical commentary and evaluations are reserved for upcoming issues of GA REPORT. (And if you're not reading GA REPORT, you're missing the best written and most insightful reviews around! You are invited to correct that oversight right now and join Gamers Alliance today!)
